My, Miss Alice, you have certainly grown more than a little since I last saw you, and such a pretty face! The photo of you with Willow, looks very nice, indeed, like maybe you were always meant to be forever friends/sisters. I see you love playing in the dirt. I did too but my mother didn’t much like it. She always said ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness,” but I always thought it was next to nothing. I hope your Dad can fix up your part of the yard so it will be the best place ever to spend time playing or just resting and watching the stars! See you next time—Say Hi to Emma and try not to make the neighbor’s hand bleed!
Thank you, Paul! Dad says, between my love of eating dirt and my joy of eating grass and sticks, he can't decide whether I'm a goat, a Shetland pony, or a Newfoundland :) I keep trying to tell him that once I hit 130 lb and all my teeth are in, all this puppy stuff is just a part of my development and he will miss this part of my life when I'm kicking him out of Beatrice and taking all the blankets haha thank you for your comments as I go along on my new writing career... Emma said hi, she and I are about to settle in for our fourth nap today, and after I showed her the pictures of Willow, says she couldn't wait to meet Willow because, when she saw the pictures, she said she wanted to be her forever friend, too :) PS There is nothing better than rolling around in the dirt and getting muddy because the bubble bath afterward makes the whole thing worthwhile.
Routine can be your friend, Alice. Sometimes it takes me an entire day to work up to being spontaneous. I’m coming back later to read about the rest of your adventures and to meet Willow.
Dear Miss Alice! You've got to stop showing me such beautiful pictures. I am beginning to envy your daddy and covet my own Newfie pup who will likely not do well in our very warm climate. I love your speckled front paws so much! And the size of them hints at just what a big girl you will one day become.
I know what you mean by tired. I've seen it in my daughters and it's never pretty. It gets better.
Sounds like Willow is a very lucky girl.
And renovations are a lot of work. I do hope your dad knows what he is getting himself into if he does take on such an onerous task. A veranda is nice though, and a kiddie pool sounds delightful.
Thank you so much, Jenny! My dad says I could live where you are, but I would need a doggy pool and a lot of air conditioning :) He also told me to tell you that his plans for the veranda will be much less formal, that the big oak tree will serve as the roof, and he's getting a big crank-out umbrella for the days it rains and, of course, it needs a dirt floor so I can dig in it and get muddy and make him hose me off on the way back in the house. He says it will have a veranda vibe, though, and Promises I will love it... But you know how dads can be sometimes, so we'll have to just wait and see what he comes up with :) and thank you for noticing my spots which Dad says are my Landseer freckles and of course, he was the first one to point out just how much more freaking gorgeous they make me look ;) I'm still waiting to find out what he means when he says my feet are like Catcher's mitts LOL

Love those pictures!! ❤️
I also prefer Miss Alice, of course of course.
All these years later I still know the entire song word for word haha
I use of course of course a lot in my critter conversations because it resonates with Mr Ed and is the most goofy use of repetition.
Throughly enjoyed this.
I prefer Miss Alice to Mr. Ed any day!
Love this comment! I grew up with Mr. Ed but even though I'm biased I couldn't agree more.
