Me too! I love the way it muffles the sharp edges off the noise in the neighborhood.
I like the sound it makes, that soft crunching when I walk through it in my boots. It sounds like a welcome to another world. All raped in the beauty of clean. Melancholy turns to wonder at the brightness it brings to the night. Only the most important journey will begin on the glaze of such compacted snow. Priorities are piqued, and times such as these are when we learn that home, really is where the heart is.
Henceforth, in this great Nation,
the first Snow Day of the year will not be spent in Remote Learning.
Fabulous journal entries and observations. I love this ...." we did what all self-respecting Hermits would do on a day like this- only what we wanted to, and only for as long as it took to finish without breaking a sweat." - excellent philopsphy! .... and the observation of of only stamping our feet like toddlers when we are damn sure no one is looking - ha ha, I must remember to check next time! Great job David, I love this series.
Thank you, April... The longer this goes on the more fun I'm having doing them. When I have finished the narrative of any particular day's activities, proof read (listened) and relived the memory of those activities, I sit quiet and still for a few minutes before coming up with these observations of the day, and they start to become my favorite part because they challenged me to wax poetic which I'm not terribly well known for being very good at :)
I enjoyed this. Mother Nature always seems to provide an item or two in my gratitude journal. So much snowy weather tonight especially in Midwest. Miss Emma will be like an extra blanket.
Snow. Lots of it. Hope you are as lucky as I feel when I look out the window.
I would love two or three feet of it :)

Beautifully said and I couldn't agree more.
