This is profound thought and many pages could be written about it. To me it rings true. Good read!

Finding your Substack was a "happy accident," as Bob Ross would say.😀

David, this is the first thing I've read from you and all you had to do was quote C.S. Lewis. My mom is 88 and almost blind and thinks she can't write anymore. Well, I can't wait to introduce her to you. What an inspiration you are, and so humble. So glad you are here and giving it all you got. It's a beautiful community indeed. God Bless you and congratulations! We need you here! ox

Thank you for the comment Deborah, I appreciate it. God bless your mom, and tell her from me that the secret lies in the righteous indignation of refusing to be helpless. :)

Thank you David! My mom has lots of that and a rap handle we gave her too - > "Tenacious B" (Beryl) - it's just that she is stubborn to try new methods like a voice recorder or begin to learn Braille. She has embraced audiobooks which is good! It's slow to change at 88 but we encourage it!

Good on you guys that you keep trying... The older we get, the more patient with us the youngsters need to be :)

Yes, it's a fine balance of her not falling down and keeping that tenacity if you know what I mean! She had a terrible fall last December from an unnecessary tenacious moment over worrying the neighbors were not going to feed another neighbor's cats. Insert a face slap. She hit the ground hard in her determination to check on the cats without her cane. We are blessed to still have her. This was of course when my brother was away. Now she uses her cane. Thank God.

So happy to have crossed paths with you here on Substack, David.

Me as well, and I will always remember you especially for a comment referring to Alice as my muse because even though I know that word it never crossed my mind when I started out - I didn't wake up one morning and decide to invent a muse when I started writing her Diaries... I just thought it would be something fun and a nice break from reality for everybody. I Blame You haha we are all just along for the ride now :)

Ha! Thank you, David. I take full responsibility. Blame accepted. I started writing Critters with a similar intent, for comic relief. And for the love of it.
